Support Farm Workers. Allow them to work the hours they choose.
Farm workers want to make as much money as they can during busy harvest season, when the most work is available. But the politicians who made Washington state's new overtime law didn’t listen to the workers, who said it would not fit farm work and their desired lifestyle.
Because of the change, farm workers are no longer able to get the number of work hours they’re used to, meaning less money and the need to get second and even third jobs to provide for their families.
Sadly, a proposal to bring some relief didn't even get a vote in Olympia this year, despite overwhelming support from the workers testifying during the proposal's official hearing.
So workers still have not had their concerns addressed, and are still asking to simply be able to work the number of hours they want, saying “Let Us Work!”
